This year it was Hollywood Theme.... :) Remember, you must label each center. Morning Work I started with trapezoid tables, then I changed it to desk... since I had 7 students... I couldn't take having a different desk at the end... A little OCD... :) This is the work my students completed daily. We are did whole group morning work and reviewed various skills. Student Schedules Most of my students needs visuals... big visuals. I had one student had words, a small pictures to assist with transitions. I use color construction paper to back the visual, saves it and provides a color background. Each student is assigned to color. At the bottom, you see each student had a box with their name color coded. This made fixing the schedule easier at the end of the day. Otherwise, if you have a big box you have to sort. The bottom rows, are additional bathroom, and break visual... these seem to get lost the most. One student had a clip board checklist schedule. Chill Out/ Time Out Backpack Cubbies Lunchboxes/Snack on Top Homework Folder Mailboxes Class Schedule Outdoor Transition Visuals Line up This year I didn't use feet, I used the Hollywood star. Each star had the student's color and name. Class Rules Short and Sweet... minimal words. There are posted in big throughout the class and mini versions in each center.. they are velcroed in case they need to be given to a student. Birthdays Bathroom Visuals Inside the bathroom, are visuals on how to use the bathroom and washing hands routine. You may use the PEC visuals or actual pictures depending on your students. Teacher Time Snack Table Speech/OT Center Books Independent Work Listening Center Computer Center Fine Motor Each box has visuals of the order students must complete task. The book holders are from IKEA. They will then put the visuals when they are finished in the bins velcroed to the table. Each student has a finished tray to put their work. This helps the teacher/assistants know with work belongs to who. Sometimes students will forget to write their names, or their work is not legible to identify. Break Area I closed it completely, this gave students an understanding they
could not go in without permission or get out to wonder.
